Windows shortcuts

21. Open the Start menu
To quickly bring up the Start menu, press the [Windows] key or [Ctrl] + [Esc].

22. Find files
Press [Windows] + [F] to bring up the Windows Search tool from within any program or press [F3] while inside Windows Explorer.


23. Open the Run dialog
The Start menu's Run dialog is a useful shortcut to system tools, folders and even web addresses. Press [Windows] + [R] to open it.

24. Switch between windows
Press [Alt] + [Esc] to cycle between windows on the taskbar - press [Enter] to open the currently highlighted one. To use the switcher bar, hold [Alt] + [Tab] instead, then keep pressing it to select the window you want.


25. Use Flip3D
Vista users with the Aero interface should hold [Windows] + [Tab] to open the Flip3D switcher instead. Just the left and right arrow keys to move between windows, then release the keys to switch to the selected window.
